The Lost Lapras- Ash and Misty safely crash land on Tangelo Island. They find three guys beating a lapras on the beach and tell them to stop. Three guys angriliy throw out their pokemon and tell them to attack, Ash orders pikachu to take care of them. Suddenly, a weird boy comes and starts taking notes on the pokemon right in the middle of the battle,Insulted the guys attack but pikachu defeats them. They get lapras to the pokemon center where it is treated, meanwhile the boy introduces himself as Tracey, when he finds out Ash and Misty know professor oak he gets excited and asks to come along because Oak is his idol. Nurse Joy can't get lapras back to the ocean because it's afraid of people and the kids try everything to try and get it into the truck so they can leave. Team Rocket comes and steals lapras. Ash jumps onto the back of the truck and it gets unlatched from the rest of it. Ash has to steer the trailer around sharp turns but he falls of a cliff and into the ocean anyways. IN the end Ash captures lapras and Tracey joins the group.
Fit to Be Tide- Ash, Misty, and Tracey sail on lapras' back and land on Mikan Island. Ash heads straight for the gym, but on the way there he sees a coconut and wants to get the milk out of it.When he grabs the coconut a bucket of water falls on his head and a boy jumps out of the bushes laughing at him. SUddenly the boy's sister comes and scolds him for setting the trap. They soon find out that she is the Mikan Gym Leader, Sissy. Ash and Sissy have a contest between Seadra and Squirtle and try to knock down cans with water gun. It's a tie and they decide use flying targets to break the tie, it turns out to be a tie again, so they decide to break that tie with a pokemon wave ride.Ash uses lapras and sissy uses blastoise. ASh and sissy are racing neck and neck but blastoise bumps lapras and Ash almost falls off, blastoise move ahead. Ash catches up but a huge wave comes, lapras uses icebeam to freeze it but the wave hits siisy. Ash moves ahead and gets an idea. He gets lapras to use ice beam to make a path to the shore and they slide to the finish on the ice. Ash wins the coral eye badge.
Pikachu Revolts-The kids land on a new island and find some pokemon attacking their trainers. They run to help them but pikachu and togepi suddenly turn around and start to threaten Ash, Misty, and Tracey. ash tries to grab pikachu but a guys magnemite shock him and pikachu walks off with the other pokemon and togepi. They go to the pokemon center and report what happened, they find officer Jenny, she says this has happened to a lot of people, even Team Rocket, they decide to help the cop find everyone's pokemon. Team Rocket tells them they stumbled upon Butch and Cassidy, and they took the pokemon using a drowzee to control them all. They sneak into their hideout by hiding in a bin of pokeballs Team Rocketgave to Butch and Cassidy. Ash is getting attacked by pikachu but he gets an idea and runs. Pikachu folows, Ash stands in front of drowzee's cage and pikachu shocks at him. Suddenly Ash jumps out of the way and the electricity hits the glass, shattering it. The pokemon are back to normal and they run out, Cassidy commands drowzee to battle, pikachu and drowzee face off, tension in the air. Togepi starts to wave it's arms and make little "toki" noises. The hideout sudden'y blows up. Misty supects togepi but noone will believe her.
The Crystal Onix- The kids are sailing along and find a message in a botlle talking about a cxrystal onix. They decide to land on Sunburst Island to find it's author , they walk through streets full of glass and crystal shops, that's what Sunburst is famous for. They find a man and a little girl arguing up ahead at the only empty shop, they tell them man to quit picking on the girl and he leaves. The girl intoduces herself as Marissa, she explains about the empty shop, saying her brother, Mateo, who owns it can't make any good sculptures because he needs inspirarion. He hopes to find the crystal onix so he'll have plenty of inspiration and get lots of buissness like when her grandfather owned the shop. Ash figures the girl wrote the letter he found and decides to help. Marissa, Mateo, Ash, Misty, and Tracey go out searching for the crystal onix, Tracey uses venonat to help find it. Venonat fails at finding the onix so he uses marill to find it by sound. The find a cave on a little island off the mainland and go there thwarting Team Rocket along the way.They see the onix underwater in a pond, it comes out and Mateo battles it with a cloyster, water doesn't affect it and he uses charmeleon instead. Charmeleon's flames make the onix get injured and it glows red from being so hot. Mateo is about to capture it but the sight of the beautiful glowing red crystal inspires him and he no longer needs to capture it. Mateo goes back to his shop and makes a cute crystal sculpture of a pikachu for Ash.
In the Pink- Rough seas cause the trio to wash up on Pinkan Island. Once they climb up the sheer cliffs, they see a pink rhyhorn. Tracey gets close to it to take notes expertly, Ash tries to do the same but the rhyhorn smells him and charges. It runs right off the edge of a cliff and falls on to a bosh growing out of the side of the wall. Officer Jenny comes and they help her rescue the pokemon. Officer Jenny tells the kids Pinkan is a pokemon reserve and people aren't allowed to go there, they avois arrest by telling her it was an accident. She shows them around and they see tons of pink pokemon, they turn pink because their diet consists of Pinkan berries she explains. Team Rocket comes in hoping to catch tons of pink pokemon but an enraged pink nidoking chases them and even goes after the kids and Jenny in their jeep. Nidoking is charging up hyper beam and fires at the jeep, suddenly it's blocked, noone knows why. Before nidoking can do anything else Jenny rounds up nidoking with a lasso. The cop gives them a ride outside of the rapid sea on her boat, Misty suspects togepi helped them escape hyper beam but noone beleives her.
Shell Shock-The three are sailing on the ocean when suddenly a boat speeds by, they decide to follow it to the island where it landed. They dicover it was a news boat going to report on the excavation site of a rare kabuto fossil. The project is lead by Nurse Joy and she and her scientist co-workers are digging for even more fossils, it is said that kabuto oil can make you live forever! While they're digging disasters keep happening, rocks avalanching, logs rolling down on them. PIkachu chases off after something and Ash follows, they find a man who tells them to leave the island imediately. He tells them a legend: When the blood red moon glows the land will be swallowed by the sea and this island will be no more. No one beleives the story and they continue digging because they've found another fossil inside a cave! It turns out the cave's walls and ceiling anre covered by kabuto fossils, Team Rocket comes trying to steal them but they go blasting off again, busting a hole in the roof of the cave.Through the hole the red moonlight shines in, suddenly the kabuto fossils start to come to life and they all run out of the cave causing it to collapse. The whole island has built up around kabuto fossils and now that the're coming to life the island's going to sink! The man tells them to head to the forest- that's what another legend told him- they begin to chop down trees and make a raft, they make it off the island just in time!
Stage Fight!-The kids are walking along and they stumble upon a pokemon showboat. They stop to see the show, it actually looks like the pokemon are talking as they perform a play! Togepi hops out of Misty's lap and up on stage, they all chase it backstage and discover that people were really doing the pokemon's voices. The pokemon just moved their mouths to make it look like they were talking. A girl, Kay, comes and tells the trio to be quiet backstage, she sees Ash and pikachu and tells them it must be good to be so close. After the show the man who owns the boat, Roger, asks Ash to give Kay some pointers because she is having troubles with her raichu. Ash tries to help but he's not so good with words it seems, he does figure that Kay seems nervous around raichu. She's afraid of getting shocked by it and they've been uneasy around each other. Team Rocket doesn't know that the pokemon can't really talk so they bomb the boat and tie everyone up. The voice actors, including Kay and Roger stand up and walk together despite the fact they're tied up, they hide and get thei pokemon move their mouths while they talk to fool Team Rocket. Raichu mega kicks the villians sending them flying. Raichu and Kay are closer than ever and Ash, Misty, and Tracey get their pokemon to join in the show.
Bye Bye Psyduck- Everyone is relaxing on the beach, a bunch of pokemon are having fun riding on lapras, in fact psyduck is sleeping on lapras. He slips off and into the water, Misty is worried that psyduck is lost and everyone helps to look for it. A girl named Marina found it and brought it back to Misty, psyduck's tail is glowing pink and Marina says that means it's going to evolve soon. Marina loves water pokemon just like Misty does and they decide to have a battle, first it's goldeen against tentacruel, Misty loses this round. The Misty uses staryu against tentacruel and defeats it, Marina then sends out her psyduck. Her psyduck looks strong unlike Misty's. Misty decides to use her psyduck against Marina's psyduck, she has Ash throw her bag to her but it falls in the water on accident. Misty pulls the bag out of the water only to discover a golduck's head stuck inside. She's so happy that her psyduck has evolved and she uses it to defeat Marina's psyduck. Team Rocket tries to steal golduck and pikachu but gets Marina's pokemon instead. Golduck rescues them and Misty and Marina decide to continue the battle. Golduck beats Marina's starmie with hyper beam and Misty tries to recall it into it's pokeball but her psyduck comes out! It turns out the golduck was really just a wild golduck that likes girls.
The Joy of Pokemon- Ash, Misty, and Tracey are sailing along on lapras and they see a kayak speed by them very fast. They think they saw Nurse Joy padling it so the follow it. They wander around the beacj where the kayak landed, suddenly a giant magikarp flies out of the water and lands on the beach. The kids are amazed and want to get it back in the water so it doesn't die. Nurse Joy tells them to get away from it and she feeds the fish some tablets. Then she picks up the huge magikarp and hurls it into the water. Nurse Joy tells the kids that she travels around to islands without pokemon centers to help injured pokemon. The kids travel round with her during the day while she helps pokemon, while on the way to help some baby seel Team Rocket attacks and captures them all in a net. The magikarp Nurse Joy helped comes back to save them and rams Team Rocket's magikarp shaped submarine. Magikarp is getting beat but it keeps trying, suddenly it evolves into gyarados and sends Team Rocket blasting off again. Nurse Joy finally gets to the island to help the baby seel and the kids go sailing off again.
Naval Maneuvers-The kids land on an island because they hear there's an Orange League Gym there. The island's streets and homes seem abandoned, but the find a man there named Danny, Danny seems to like Misty and Misty is purely enchanted by him. Danny tells Ash the gym is at the top of the mountain and that he has to climb it without the help of his pokemon or he's disqualified. Tracey and Misty get to ride in a gondola to the top of the mountain but Danny and Ash climb. When they get to the top, the gym is empty and they discover Danny is not a challenger, he is the Gym Leader! The first challenge for Ash is he has to freeze a guyser faster than Danny can. Ash chooses lapras and Danny uses nidoqueen. the two pokemon use their ice beam to freeze the guysers, Danny wins though. Next they have to use the ice from the guysers to carve a sled. Ash chooses pikachu, bulbasaur, and charizard, Danny uses scyther, primeape, and nidoqueen. Danny is beating Ash at first because charizard won't participate, charizard finally blasts flames and makes the sled in three hits, winning that competition for Ash. Next they have to race down the mountain on the sleds they made using pokemon to help steer it. Ash uses bulbasaur squirtle and pikachu, Danny uses his same ones. The competion is feirce and Ash is having a hard time steering. Danny falls in a hole Team Rocket dug and Ash stops to help him. Then the race is back on, Ash's sled veers off the path and into the woods, heis sled is getting torn up and is worn down to a little block, he flies out of the trees and ahead of Danny, crossing the finish line. Ash won his second Orange league badge.
Snack Attack-The kids land on an island becuase they're all very hungry, they find trees with tons of grapefruit on them, they want to eat some but a girl comes and thinks they're theives. They realize they're ina grapefruit grove and that a mysterious theif has been stealing all the grapefruit lately. They soon find out it was really a snorlax eating the trees and fruit. Everyone tries everything to get the snorlax to stop, they figure the best way is to get it to fall asleep. They try massaging it and hypnotising it, counting sheep- er, counting snorlax. Finally they try to sing it to sleep, and look for jigglypuff, they make jigglypuff a stage and cheer for it soon it runs up and starts to sing. Fighting tiredness, Ash captures snorlax in a pokeball.
A Ship Full of Shivers-The kids stop off at a mueseum hoping to see the ancient pokemon league trophy, but it was stolen. Team Rocket stole it and the kids chase them as they make their getaway in a seadra shaped peddle boat. They follow them far out to sea in a thick fog, they find a giant galleon and board it thinking Team Rocket is hiding inside. Strange things happen in the boat and they suspect it's haunted. Togepi gets lost and they have to search for it, they find it downstairs of the ship inside playing with a gastly and haunter. They see the stolen trophy on a table and try to grab it but haunter gets in the way blocking them. Haunter makes a holographic image, it looks like the room they were in has changed to a scene of a pokemon stadium. The watch the haunter's master in the hologram, he's battling and always winning, the haunter and gastly make it clear they want to keep the trophy safe even though their master is gone and dead.
Meowth Rules- Team Rocket sits repairing their magikarp sub, talking about their troubled life.Their ship suddenly blows up and Jessie and James blast off again, but meowth flies in the opposite direction. When meowth wakes up he is lifted out of the crater he made and carried to a shine, these people beleive meowths are sacred,and that meowth in particular is special "The Meowth of Bounty". Meowth tries to explain he's not special but he realizes that some pretty good stuff could come out of this so he plays along. Meowth is treated like a god, food, girls, anything he wants, the day comes when he's supposed to bring bounty and good luck to the people by using payday and making them rich, meowth can't use payday and he's very worried this will blow his secret. The people think that meowth just needs a little experience to use payday so they make him battle overpowering pokemon. Jessie and James come to his rescue and throw out their nickels and dimes to make the people beleive meowth used payday. James even throws in his favorite bottle cap from his collection. Meowth sees the bottlecap and figures James and Jessie helped him and runs to find his friends. The people run after him to beg him to stay with them but Jessie and James appear and they tell meowth they forgive him for ditching them and he rejoins his buddies.
Tracey Gets Bugged-Ash, Misty, and Tracey stop at Mercot Island, Misty is freaked out because Mercot is the bug pokemon island, but Tracey is excited to capture some bug types. He and Ash run off to find some, Misty only follows because she doesn't want to get left alone. They see something laying in a medow, it turns out to be a hurt scyther, the kids run to help it but it jumps up and threatens to attack them. Tracey decides to battle it so he can capture it and take it to a pokemon center, Nurse Joy remarks that this scyther is an old warrior, the leader of it's swarm. It lost a match to a younger scyther, so now he has to leave the swarm and the younger scyther is the new leader. Scyther is agitated and won't let anyone, especially Tracey, get near it. Professor Oak thinks it's that scyther's confidence is shot, now that he just lost his swarm and Tracey captured him. Tracey tells scyther he can challenge the new leader as soon as he is better. Meanwhile Team Rocket gets into a little scrape with the swarm of scyther, Jessie's hair is chopped off and she swares revenge on them. She shoots a big glob of sticky goop on the scyther and they can't move well or fly away, they cry out, SCYTHER! Back at the Pokemon Center scyther hears his freinds' cry and busts through the glass window to save them, the kids think he wants to go battle the new leader and are dissapointed in him, but they follow. Scyther arrives to defend his swarm but Team Rocket laughs at him, being so old and all. They fight him with their pokemon, scyther does well but he gets tired out and arbok is about to hit him with poison sting. The younger scyther runs in front of him and deflects the attack, the two work together to beat Team Rocket and Tracey gets to keep the old warrior.
A Way Off Day Off-The kids settle down on a calm little island for a rest and some food. They decide to spend the whole day relaxing, they release their pokemon frm their pokeballs and they go off to relax too. Ash grabs a pear from a tree and taks a bite, it tastes really bad because it's not ripe, togepi and pikachu bring a lot of ripe pears to the kids and they statr to put the fruit in a pile. Snorlax comes along and eats almost the whole pile, Ash, Misty, and Tracey have o re-gather everything! Charizard and Scyther keep fighting with each other, Ash and Tracey try to get their pokemon to calm down, but nothing works. Tracey makes some fruit sandwhiches, Misty is kind of skeptical about the taste and doens't want to eat them, snorlax comes and eats the whole plate so the three have to go without eating that night. Everyone settles down for the night, Ash can't seem to sleep so he goes down to the beach to look at the stars, pikachu wakes up, not finding his master and goes to sit with Ash. Meanwhile Team Rocket sets their plan into action, they fire out suction cups that grab everyone's pokemon. Charizard and scyther save them all and pikachu sends Team Rocket blasting off again, scyther and charizard have stopped fighting and admire each other now. The kids enjoyed their break but they gather everything up and hit the seas again.
The Mandarin Island Miss Match-The Ash, Misty, and Tracey land on Mandarin Island. they see flyers advertising a pokemon presentation done by elite four trainer prima (lorelei) Misty is totally excited, and is dying to see her. Ash requests to battle Prima but Prima seems off in another world, she says nothing nonsense thoughts and feelings to him. He gets mad and wants to prove to prima that he would be a worthy adversary so he challenges a random guy to a battle. Ash starts off with pikachu and the dude uses tauros. Pikachu does well but he gets knocked out, Ash then sends out charizard. Everyone's suprised Ash uses charizard becuase he doesn't obey, charizard flamethrowers at Ash, he flamethrowers tauros too and flies off going totally out of control. The dude recalls his hurt tauros and runs off saying Ash is too unexperianced to battle. Ash tries to recall charizard but it's flying all over, Prima suddenly calls out her slowbro and slowbro takes out charizard with psychic attack. Ash then recalls the pokemon, the kids go back to prima's house and have lunch with her. Prima then tells them all about her lecture and pokemon demonstration, she invites them to it and Misty is especially excited. Ash is still dissapointed that she won't battle him, he studies her technique at the presentation and asks her to battle afterwards. Prima finally agrees and uses her cloyster against pikachu. Pikachu tires thundershock but cloyster's shell repells the attack. Cloyster uses water gun and aurora beam on pikachu knocking it out. Prima gives Ash a little lecture, saying he has to trust in the people and pokemon he loves. Team Rocket tries to steal Prima's pokemon but they don't stand a chance, and the kids continue on to the next gym.
Wherefore Art Thou Pokemon?-Ash, Misty, and Tracey are wandering along some old fashioned-like city streets, they suddenly hear someone yelling "Maria!" It turns out to be a girl named Emily searching for her female nidoran. THey decide to help Emily search, later they hear another voice yelling "Tony!" it turns out to be a boy named Ralph searching for his male nidoran. When Ralph and Emily see each other they break out in argument, saying the other stole their nidoran. Suddenly they find the two nidoran behind some bushes, the two pokemon are snuggled up next to each other, the male nidoran Tony, plucks a rose off a bush and gives it to the female, Maria. The two start to munch on the flower, Misty thinks it's so cute that the two little nidoran are in love, Emily and Ralph don't think so though, they grab their pokemon and walk off. That night Misty thinks up a pretty good plan to get the two trainers together so their nidoran can be happy with each other. She sends ralph a model airplane and says it's from Emily. She sends Emily flowers and says it's from Ralph. The next day Ash Misty, and Tracey wait in the bushes to see what happens between the two, emily throws the flowers in Ralph's face saying he gave those to her on perpose becaus eshe's allergic! Ralph throws the model on the ground saying Emily sent that to him to make fun of the fact he throws up in airplanes! While the two argue, a mysterious bride and groom come walking out of a chapel. Everyone stops and congratualtes the new couple, but the bride and groom grab the nidorans' pet carriers and unveil themselves as Team Rocket. Team Rocket makes their getaway in their ballon, they had cans tied to the bottom of the ballon as a little marriage joke but they weren't tied tight enough and dropped off leaving a trail for the kids to follow. Team Rocket is so amazed when the kids find them they let go of the nidoran and they scamper back to their owners. Team rocket sends out arbok and victreebel to get the nidoran. The two make a great team and they battle for one another. They defeat Team Rocket, and Emily and Ralph discovered they actually liked each other. They made a little house in between each others houses for the two nidoran so they could be to gether everyday. the nidoran were so happy, they put their noses together in a little nidoran kiss, suddenly they evloved into nidorino and nidorina ! The kids keep going in search of the next gym.
Get Along Little Pokemon-The weary trio wanders through the vast desert on mandarin Island, suddenly a storm comes and lightning strikes all around! Ash, Misty and Tracey run for cover, lightning strikes nearby and Misty falls on the ground. Ash helps her up and they run underneath a rock ledge, suddenly a magnemite flies up into the sky and lightning strikes it. The magnemite doesn't get hurt, it's absorbing the electric energy! A man in a covered wagon comes and tell the kids to get inside, more magnemite go out and get energy. After the storm the man introduces himself as Ethan, he and his magnemite travel around absorbing electrical storms' energy and bringing it to towns that need electricity. He calls his magnemite with a whistle and his pet jolteon that helps to herd them while they travel, the magnemite don't have names, he calls them by number. One magnemite in particular, #6, is always wandering off and getting into trouble. Ash, Misty, and Tracey hitch a ride with Ethan to the town nearest the port to Trovita, the next pokemon gym. One day Nurse Joy calls up Ethan saying their town had a black out and they need power, Ethan says he'll be there soon and hangs up. Suddenly all the magnemite fly away! Team Rocket is getting all of them with a magnet, they grab pikachu and jolteon too! The two pokemon get free and free all the magnemite, arbok rams jolteon and sends it flying, Ethan tries to catch his pokemon but the impact saends himflying into the side of the wagon, he and jolteon are hurt now. Pikachu sends Team Rocket blasting off again, Ethan's arm is broken and he can't drive the wagon anymore, but Nurse Joy needs that electricity! Ash takes one of the tauros that pulled the wagon and Ethan's whistle, then he hits the trail to deliver the magnemite. Along the way #6 wanders of again Ash goes off to get it, meanwhile all the other magnemite float off too! Team Rocket is using another magnet and gathering them all up, Ash holds on tight to #6, mewoth bags up the magnemite but they float away with him holding onto the bag! A hole gets in the bag and all the magnemite get out, #6 evolves into magneton and defeats Team Rocket! Ash delivers the magnemite and Ethan is very pleased, the kids head on to the next island and gym.
The Mystery Menace-The kids come along to a town on their way to Trouvita island, Team Rocket tries a nasty trick toi get pikachu, they blow a hole in the ground to trap the kids, however the hole blows through to the sewers and they all fall in! Ash's bulbasaur gets taken by what they think is a monster. They go to talk to Nurse Joy who says there's been a strange being living in the sewers under the town. The trio makes their way throught the sewers to find bulbasaur, they see the monster themselves and run for it! Meanwhile Nurse Joy is talking with the mayor of the town, arguing with him because he's planning to seal up the sewers with concrete, Ash, Misty, and Tracey are still down there and Nurse Joy is worried about them. The mayor decides to carry out with the plans anyhow and his special officers seal up all the exits. Down, in the sewers, Team Rocket is wandering around looking for the kids, now they're trying to find a way out but it's all sealed up. Ash, Misty, and Tracey think they're safe from the monster now but the strange tentacles garb Misty and drag her under water! Ash and Tracey dive in to save her and swim into a man hole. They find that Misty is just fine and so is bulbasaur! The "monster" was really just a really big bulbasaur and the "tentacles" were it's vines. The big bulbasaur was just lonely and that's why it was taking people and things. Meanwhile Team Rocket think they hear the monster up ahead and decide to scare it, they make funny faces and run at the sound screaming! It turns out the sounds were really just the mayors special forces sent down to find Ash, Misty, and Tracey, the shoot at team Rocket with "puddy guns". The kids finally make their way out by busting through some water pipes and flooding the mayor's house while he was in the tub. The mayor sees the big bulbasaur and remembers himself as a child putting the bulbasaur in a box and floating it into the sewers, he was ditching it because it wouldn't eveolve, how mean! The bulbasaur picks up the naked mayor (he was in the bathtub at the time on the incident, don't worry he has a towel on!) in his vines and is so happy to see him, it doens't even care he was abandonned. Finally bulbasaur throws him and Nurse Joy decides to take care of it. The kids are happy to solve the mystery and they continue on.
Misty Meets Her Match-The kids finally get to Trouvita Island, they see a girl drowning and rescue her. They take her shore and a guy runs up and thanks them for saving his little sister, he whips out a bouqet of flowers and gives them to Misty, he then turns on some music,grabs Misty, and starts to dance with her. He says his name is Rudy (what a dumb name!) and that he is the Trouvita Island Gym Leader. He takes Misty to the gym, Ash and Tracey follow, all Rudy's pokemon are dancing to some music. Rudy says that dancing helps the pokemon learn and work better in battle. Ash send out his pokmon and they dance to show up Rudy's pokemon, Rudy finally notices Ash and lets him take a challenge test to see if he isworthy of battling him. They all pile in a boat and drive down a river, targets pop out here and there, Ash has to hit all the targets to pass the test. He uses bulbasaur, squirtle, and pikachu to break the targets, just to show off he sends out charizard, it goes wild and Misty scolds him, he recalls it then. Despite charizard he didn't miss any atrgets. Rudy insists Misty stay with himthat night and Ash and Tracey have to camp on the beach. Misty gets a good meal, Rudy's sister, Mary adores Misty and wishes she would stay, Rudy then asks Misty to think about it. He shows her to her room, the next day at the match Rudy tries to show off to Misty so she'l stay, the match is between electric types first. pikachu against electabuzz, pikachu tries thundershok but electabuzz just absorbs the attck, electabuzz uses thunderpunch and hits pikachu right in the stomach, it sends pikachu lying and it almost fall off the cliff they were battling on but Ash catches it! Next it's grass types, bulbasaur against exeggutor, exeggutor dances around bulbasaur's attacks, finally bulbasaur uses sleep powder and puts it to sleep. Then Rudy says he's dedicating the next round to Misty by using water pokemon. Ash uses squirtle and Rudy uses starmie. Squitle tries water gun but it doesn't work well, starmie does a little dancing spin and uses thunderbolt! Squirtle withdraws but starmie grabs onto squirtle with all of it's sides, trapping it in the thunderbolt! Ash doesn't know what to do and just stands there amazed, suddenly, Misty yells at him from above (she was watching the match from a hot air balloon) she tells him he has to think fast and she cheers him on, Rudy is shocked that she doesn't cheer for hi instead, but he realizes why....Suddenly squirtle uses hydropump and spins out of the starmie's grasp, finishing it off with skull bash! Ash wins his spike shell badge, Rudy tells Ash congratulations and that he's a very lucky guy, of course, Ash is so dumb he has no idea what Rudy is talking about. So the trio sails off again looking for the last gym.
Bound for Trouble-Ash, Misty, and Tracey are sitting looking at a map. Tracey explains how the island they're on is known for it's large sized pokemon. The map tells them that big pidgeot and rhydon are near where they are. Ash is excited and hopes to capture one so they head off. Suddenly Team Rocket shows up and they have their usual battle. Except, this time they throw a strange harness at pikachu. It locks around him and meowth is locked to the other end of the rope attached to the harness so that pikachu wouldn't escape. Pikachu tries to shock Team Rocket, but they pull out some protection shields and avoid injury. Team Rocket makes off with pikachu and they're quite pleased with themselves, suddenly a huge pidgeot swoops out of the sky and grabs hold of the rope holding pikachu and meowth together. It carries off the two pokemon and flies toward it's nest hoping for a quick poke-snack. Meowth tells pikachu to do something, pikachu responds by shocking meowth. Meowth says that he meant for pikachu to do something that would help their situation. Pikachu responds by shocking pidgeot along with meowth. Pidgeot lets loose of the rope and the two plummet to the ground. Meowth is underneath of pikachu and the two wrestle in mid-air to keep one or the other on top or bottom so the other can break their fall. Meowth ends up on bottom and breaks pikachu's fall. Pikachu obviously has the upper hand with its thundershock, which meowth is terrified of. pikachu starts to walk one way and meowth starts to walk the other, stretching the cord. Meowth gets shocked and agrees to go the way pikachu wants to go. There’s a fork in the road and they both want to go opposite ways again, meowth agrees with pikachu once he sees the sparks beginning to fly. The two are still walking around; pikachu tells meowth he smells pokemon that might be able to help them. Meowth is excited, but it turns out the pokemon was a huge rhydon. The rhydon starts to chase them and they run and run, finally they run into a dead end. Pikachu tries to ward off the enemy with thundershock but it doesn't work against the rock pokemon! Pikachu insists that meowth and he work together to try and beat it, meowth doesn't understand how he could help. Pikachu tells meowth to get the rhydon's mouth open and then he would do the rest. meowth jumps on to rhydon's back and tries a "tickle attack" the rhydon starts to laugh and pikachu thunderbolts right into its mouth. The poor rhydon passes out and the two continue to look for their friends. Soon it starts to get dark, both pokemon are very hungry, meowth sees an apple in a tree and runs to it. Pikachu pulls the cord back and meowth flies behind, pikachu then runs ahead to the apple. This time meowth pulls the cord, but pikachu thundershocks the apple and it falls into his little paws. Meowth is very upset, it looks like another night he'll have to go hungry, Pikachu splits the apple in half though, and they share it. Meowth sees pikachu isn't such a bad little guy after all, and tells pikachu if he wasn't with Ash, and himself wasn't a part of Team Rocket, they might have become friends. Pikachu had already fallen asleep in meowth's lap and didn't hear his moving speech. Meowth lies down and takes his rest too. In the morning, the two pokemon are confronted by the giant pidgeot again, they try to run, but the giant rhydon catches them on the other side. They're trapped and there's no where to run, suddenly they're saved by one of Ash's pokemon. Pikachu runs to Ash dragging meowth behind him. Jessie and James come down from the sky and meowth runs to them, dragging pikachu behind him. The two sides have their usual battle with the usual victory of Ash, he unlocks the harness with Team Rocket's key pikachu is free! Meowth is free also but he goes blasting off again with Team Rocket. Ash, Misty, and Tracey go along their way looking for the last gym.
Charizard Chills!-The trio sails along on the beautiful seas of the orange archipelago. Suddenly a boat speeds by almost knocking them off lapras. The boat comes back around and stops, a boy who looks a lot like Tracey gets out and tells Ash he heard of him from Rudy the Trouvita gym leader. The boy wanted to test Ash's strength himself and they go to shore for a battle. Ash chooses charizard to fight the buy's poliwrath, the poliwrath is impressive, it has a championship belt it won in a tournament. Charizard agrees to battle the poliwrath, but instead of listening to Ash it does what it wants in battle, trying useless strategies even though Ash told him not to. The poliwrath's trainer is disappointed at it's incompetence, and decides to finish it off with icebeam. The ice beam freezes charizard solid and he clunks to the ground. Ash rushes to his frozen, disobedient friend and begins beating the ice with a rock. The boy laughs and walks off telling him he needs to train better. Ash keeps trying to un freeze charizard. Misty and Tracey help him starts fires all around him to melt the ice and they drape a blanket over him. The kids give charizard massages to warm him up and keep a midnight vigil all around him. At one point, charizard wakes up and almost attacks Ash but passes out quickly. During the night Ash keep massaging even though his hands are chafed and bleeding. Charizard sees this and remembers all the times they had been together and how good they used to get along back when he was a charmander. He has a new respect for Ash now. Ash had fallen asleep massaging, when he woke up in the morning he saw charizard, standing strong on a boulder with his flame bigger than ever. Team Rocket shows up to get pikachu, Ash and charizard join forces for the first time to finish them. They blast off and pikachu is safe. Ash has another battle with the boy and his poliwrath and vanquishes him this time. Ash is overjoyed he and charizard have finally become friends.
The Pokemon Water War- The trio are on another island just hanging out and notice a burning warehouse. They want to help put out the blaze with staryu and squirtle but it’s not doing any good. Suddenly a wall collapses and it’s about to crush Misty and Ash. Some pokemon rush in and wisk them out of the way just in time. It turns out the pokemon were wartortle who are all on a team of firefighters. The fire chief who handles them, Capt. Aiden, tells the kids all about the pokemon firefighters and how they do their job. Squirtle feels terribly put down at how ash marvles at the wartortle. Squirtle puts on his old glasses from his days in the squirtle squad. Ash begs Aiden to let squirtle train with the wartortle squad and he agrees. Squirlte just can’t compete with a faster and stronger pokemon like wartortle, but manages to do ok. Team Rocket comes and tries to steal the team, pikachu, and squirte and actually succeeds in taking them into a cabin out in the boondocks. Meanwhile officer jenny has just alerted captain aiden about a fire at the apartment complex. The other firefighting teams of blastoise can’t make it because of an overturned truck and squirtle team can’t shoot enough water on the fire. The wartortle were captured though and the situation seems hopeless until tracey uses venonat to find the water pokemon and rescue them. They defeat team rocket and run to the apartments to help. Squirtle is helping right alongside the team. Suddenly they hear a boy calling from inside the burning building. Squirtle and the lead wartortle go in after him and leap out of the building just as the wall collapses. The wartortle now respect squirtle and his pride in himself is renewed.
Pokemon Food Fight- The kids have landed on an island and they’re plumb out of food. Tracey informs them that many flowers are edible and they spot some nearby they decide to test out. It turns out that the flowers were part of a kid’s hat and he is very angry. He challenges Tracey to a match but decides he’d rather battle ash instead. Ash accepts and they begin the battle with the kid losing to Ash’s hungry snorlax who tried to eat the kid’s gloom! Snorlaz’s pokeball falls and gets broken so Ash cannot return him. Snorlax eats the poor kid’s hat and the lunch his mom made for him! The kid starts to cry and is about to leave when ash asks where a pokemon center is to fix the pokeball. The kid tells him it’s on the other side of the mountain and runs off. Ash is totally bewildered at how to snorlax up the mountain, especially since it has now fallen asleep. First they come up with the bright idea of dragging him up the mountain using logs to roll him along, but it is very tiring work. Tracey digs in his bag and uses an apple as bait to try and get snorlax to follow them but it just eats the apple and falls asleep again. Misty suggests they use a “lure” of sorts since they don’t have any bait. Ash dresses up in a big apple costume and runs for his life as snorlax chases after him. Snorlax catches ash and takes a bit out of the apple costume, realizes it’s fake and falls asleep. It turns out Ash had lured Snorlax all the way to the top and all they needed to do now is get it down. They build a raft and ffloat down a river to the pokemon center. The kid from earlier is there along with tons of other people. The kid explains that the island is having a food shortage and a plane is going to drop a care package of food any time now. They see the plane and the crate with food is dropped and drifts down but Team Rocket steals it in midair. They say that they’ll give the islanders their food back in exchange for pikachu. Ash shields pikachu from the others who are eager to hand him over. Suddenly the kid with the flower hat steps in and tells them off for trying to do such a thing to a fellow trainer. Team roxket decides to just steal piakchu and keep the food as well and almost succeed, but snorlax bursts onto the scene hungrier than ever. He fights life and limb for the food and defeats the baddies, eats some of the food, and falls asleep again. Ash’s pokeball is fixed and he recalls the chubby lil fighter. The kid respects Ash now for saving his island from hunger and the trio moves on.
Pokemon Double Trouble
Ash is anxious to square off against the Gym Leader who holds the final badge of the Orange League. But then he learns that this Gym Leader is none other than the kindly townswoman who just helped him rally against a Team Rocket sneak attack.
The Wacky Watcher
Ash and friends are no sooner recruited as assistants in an elaborate project researching Magikarp evolution than Team Rocket surfaces, stealing the object of the young Trainers' research.
The Stun Spore Detour
When a chance encounter with a Vileplume leaves Ash and Tracey incapacitated, Misty sets about finding a healing plant that will restore their health. Meanwhile James and Meowth of Team Rocket lurk nearby, planning to steal the herb for their own nefarious uses.

After winning his way to the final competition for the Orange League Winner's Trophy, victory seems a long shot for Ash as the Gym Leader deploys a powerful Gengar that topples one of Ash's Pokémon after another.
